For 62 years, Ulrich's International Periodicals Directory has been the premier serials reference source. The 33rd edition of Ulrich's contains information on more than 210,000 serials published throughout the world, arranged under 967 subject headings. This is a good research tool that you should be familiar with, so get a volume to look through.

The availability of serials in electronic formats, either on-line or on CD-ROM, continues to grow. This edition of Ulrich's includes 4,115 serials available exclusively on-line or in addition to hard copy and 1,119 serials available on CD-ROM.

Also included are more than 9,532 titles that are known to have ceased or suspended publication in the last three years.

This edition of Ulrich's is arranged within five volumes: the first three volumes comprise the "Classified List of Serials"; the fourth volume contains the "Refereed Serials," "Controlled Circulation Serials," "Serials Available on CD-ROM," "Producer Listing/Serials on CD-ROM," "Serials Available Online," "Cessations," "Index to International Organizations," ISSN, title change, and title indexes. The fifth volume comprises daily and weekly newspapers published in the United States. Ulrich's provides a toll-free number, (800) 346-6049, that subscribers can call to get help in solving particular serial research problems and questions.
