9. Who's Who in America
Recommended Supplement: Who´s Who in Finance and Industry
This annual publication (ISBN 0-8379-0325-4) is also published by Reed Reference Publishing and contact can be made by calling the numbers listed above. According to the editors, in compiling names for inclusion in Who's Who in Finance and Industry, the aim has been to select qualified men and women in all lines of useful and reputable financial endeavor. The standards of admission provide for the selection of those individuals who, because of prominence in particular branches of business, have become subjects of interest, inquiry, or discussion in the business world. Others are chosen because of positions held in financial and industrial concerns defined by size based on assets or sales, or by other specialized rating criteria. The editors present comprehensive coverage of approximately 25,000 North American and international professionals who are of current business reference interest.
The listings in Who's Who in Finance are the most detailed of the three major directories mentioned above. Using volume of business as the criteria for selection, numerous officers from the largest American companies and the key officers from companies doing business of smaller designated volume are included, as well as management-level professionals. In addition, the directory covers professionals in business-related fields, such as selected government officials, heads of stock exchanges, business educators and researchers, directors of professional and trade associations in business, and labor union officers. Listings are arranged alphabetically by personal name, with no additional indexes. CD-ROM data are also available.
Each candidate for inclusion in Who's Who in Finance and Industry is invited to submit biographical data about his or her life and business career. This information is reviewed by the Marquis editorial staff before being written into sketch form. In the event that a reference-worthy individual fails to submit biographical data, the Marquis staff compiles the information through independent research.
