For some reason, one of which I am not aware, dedications often seem harshly simple and direct, just a few words on a blank page. I would like my appreciation voiced a little more (anyone fifty-seven or older can understand the necessity of covering as many bases as possible). This book is dedicated to my family and to those members of the campus community who, over so many years of my academic life, have enriched not only my experience, but thousands of students intent on bettering themselves and their society as well.
