About the author

Professor F. Patrick Butler F. Patrick Butler is presently a Visiting Professor at the University of Innsbruck and faculty member of the Kufstein-Fachhochschule.

Previously he served as a faculty member at Monterrey Institute of Technology, Mexico. Previously he served as a faculty member for the Georgetown University School of Business and as visiting professor on the faculties of the University of Innsbruck, Austria, University of Stockholm, Sweden, University of Paderborn, Germany, and Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Dr. Butler, who has taught for 22 years, was twice selected as a Fulbright Scholar for the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, Romania. He has guest lectured at a number of international universities including the former Leningrad International Management Institute. He received his Ph.D. and M.A. in International Relations from The American University and B.S. at St. Bonaventure University.

Dr. Butler founded a consulting company, The Spirit of '76, Inc., in Washington, D.C. He was a member of the Domestic and International Business Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce, and served as Field Director for the Ford Administration's White House Public Forums on Domestic Policy. Dr. Butler was a Marketing Engineer for the Lockheed Aircraft Corporation. Commissioned as a Naval Flight Officer in the U.S. Navy, Dr. Butler served in an active-duty status for seven years.

Dr. Butler has three daughters, Erin, Robyn, and Shannon.
