Course: Human Resources Management II
Place: ST1
Time: 8:45 AM to 12:00
Instructor: Ph.D. F. Patrick Butler

Course Content: The aim of this course is to introduce students to the field of international human resource management. With the globalisation of the world economy it is more important than ever for organisations to engage in human resource management on an international scale. During the course the options for international firms in the areas of human resource planning, performance appraisal, training, compensation and labour relations will be examined. Particular emphasis will be put on recruitment and selection. In this part of the course participants will get practical ideas for their personal application strategies.

Methodology: The course will rely on lectures, class discussions in a seminar style environment, exams, research papers, presentations, cases, videos and possibly guest speakers. To aid in the class discussion students will be expected to bring articles to class which they have researched and which they feel adds to the understanding of the Human Resource Management topic at hand. All the articles obtained by the students must be saved in a folder and handed in at the end of the semester.
